The Myriad - “Holiest of Thieves” - Prelude to Arrows EP
What a great song as the sun’s out and we’re anticipating summer!
“Holiday” - Future of Forestry - Travel Vol. II
How do you feel about the ocean,
How do you feel about the deep blue sea?
Because I feel you feel for love and all you give to me…
Last summer, Christa Wells released her “How Emptiness Sings EP” for free on Noisetrade, where I first discovered her. The album possesses such soulfulness that comes out in both the joy and agony that’s expressed, and it earned a place on heavy rotation on my sound system for the next few weeks. It’s beautifully produced and unique.
Christa has written with Sara Groves, Natalie Grant, and others, especially in the Nashville area. She wrote “Held”, recorded by Grant, which earned her the 2006 GMA Songwriter of the Year award. More recently, she has been touring and writing with Nicole Witt.

Wow, love this. Reminds me of Minus The Bear mixed with The National. My friend Nic Campbell’s band.
AND they’re giving away this one for free:

I interviewed director Chris Nash and production manager Jacqui Janzen about their upcoming film, “Underneath The Ash Tree”, filming in Vancouver Summer 2012.
An introduction to the zoetrope from the team at Pixar, who wanted to show exactly how animation works.
The zoetrope consists of a cylinder with slits cut vertically in the sides. On the inner surface of the cylinder is a band with images from a set of sequenced pictures. As the cylinder spins, the user looks through the slits at the pictures across. The scanning of the slits keeps the pictures from simply blurring together, and the user sees a rapid succession of images, producing the illusion of motion.
The Album Leaf - “Fear of Flying”
A gorgeous ambient track.
